The recent disgorgement of the NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition is a blend of 70% Chardonnay from Bisseuil, Pinot Noir (from Ambonnay and Bisseuil) and a bit of Pinot Meunier (from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ). Fermented in 60% barriques bordelaise and aged on the second lees for 36 months, this cuvée has an intensely aromatic yet pure and mineral bouquet followed by a full-bodied, pure and powerful yet refreshing palate with lots of fruit and structure as well as remarkable freshness. It’s complex and mineral, a bit loud perhaps and with nice grapefruit bitterness. Still very fresh, it needs some time to gain more finesse and elegance.
