Alexis de Benoist Beaujolais-Villages ‘Perdrix Rouge’ 2019

Made by 100% Gamay Noir from Beaujolais-Villages, this wine has intense ruby colour with violet reflections. The heady, indulgent nose reveals crushed fresh red fruits (raspberry, blackberry and strawberry), enriched by a subtle note of white pepper. Black cherry explodes in the mouth, combined with fruits that reflect the wine’s aromas. The tannins are silky, with great finesse. Cherry stone flavours linger onto a slightly minty finish. Classic pairing with grilled red meat from Aubrac or Salers; or for the adventurous, with monkfish curry cooked in coconut milk.
